ABOUT US
A group of SaaS industry metrics thought leaders identified the pain and challenges created by the lack of standards for SaaS Metrics calculation and brought together a coalition to publish the first ever “SaaS Metrics Standards Documentation”
SaaS industry participants, including Financial Platform Vendors, SaaS Metrics Platform Vendors, Accounting Firms, Audit Firms and leading SaaS investors have been invited to participate in the creation and publishing of the SaaS Metrics standards.
The SaaS Metrics Board was founded by five leading SaaS metrics voices with a total of 100+ years of operating and investment experience in the subscription software industry.
FOUNDING MEMBERS
TODD GARDNER
Todd Gardner is the founder and former CEO of SaaS Capital, the first dedicated lender to the SaaS space.
Through three decades of venture investing, lending, and software deployment, Todd has worked with thousands of SaaS companies across the globe. Todd is a recognized thought leader in SaaS metrics, valuations, pricing, and capital formation.
BEN MURRAY
Ben Murray is the founder of The SaaS CFO with over 44,000 SaaS finance followers. Ben also is the founder of the SaaS CFO Community and the SaaS Academy.
Previously, Ben was a corporate finance executive and MBA/CPA with over 20 years of progressive experience in finance and operational management within small technology firms to global multi-billion dollar organizations.
RAY RIKE
Ray is the founder and CEO of RevOps Squared and the SaaS KPI Benchmark Index, creator of SaaS Metrics Palooza, the SaaS Solution Showcase and host of the Metrics that Measure Up Podcast.
Ray has 30+ years of experience in subscription software companies including five successful company exits.

DAVE KELLOGG
Dave Kellogg is an experienced enterprise software executive, investor, board member, advisor, and blogger. Dave was previously CEO at Host Analytics.

Prior to Host Analytics, Dave was a SVP and General Manager of Service Cloud at Salesforce.com. Previously Dave was CEO of MarkLogic and CMO at Business Objects.
Dave has bachelor’s degrees in geophysics and applied mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California.
Chelsea is a General Partner at Battery Ventures, where she focuses on investments in the software and healthcare-IT sectors.
Chelsea serves on the boards of ContinuumCloud, Curve Dental, Maxio, Ontra, PageUp, and Redox. Previous investments include Avalara, Brightree, ClearCare, Data Innovations, Glassdoor, Groupon, Guidewire, Intacct, Marketo, RealPage and WebPT.

In 2013, Chelsea was named to the Forbes Midas “Hot Prospects” list and in 2018 she was included on Business Insider’s 23 Top Venture Capitalists in Enterprise Tech list.

Chelsea received a BS with honors in chemical engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Mary is a partner and co-founder of Bessemer’s growth investment practice, and she is primarily focused on cloud software investments, which include Netlify, Teleport, LaunchDarkly, and more. Mary is a co-author of Bessemer’s Scaling to $100 Million report, annual State of the Cloud Reports, and the 10 Laws of Cloud. Mary is also a key architect of the BVP Nasdaq Emerging Cloud Index.
Before Bessemer, Mary worked in Equity Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley and held roles at Apple and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Mary received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her MBA from the Yale School of Management.
ALKA TANDAN
Alka Tandan is Chief Financial Officer at Gainsight. Tandan has over 20 years of corporate finance and operations experience in the technology industry, mostly focused on SaaS. She began her career in investment banking where she helped take Salesforce and Google public and has held various strategic and operational roles at MetricStream, Actian Corporation, and SAP.

Tandan is also a limited partner for the venture fund Operator Collective and is a founding member of The F Suite, a community platform for Chief Financial Officers of leading venture capital funds and high growth technology companies.
RYAN MORRISON
Ryan Morrison is a Partner at Founders Circle Capital, a +$1B venture-growth fund. Ryan spends most of his time in enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, and digital health, with investments in companies like Monday.com, HashiCorp, Confluent, and Airtable.

When he’s not actively investing, he helps operate the CFO|Circle – a private leadership community of 300+ CFOs who collaborate via email, monthly "anti-webinars" on relevant topics, quarterly IRL meet-ups, and curated 1:1 matchmaking.

Prior to FCC, Ryan worked in investment banking at Barclays, advising software companies on M&A, equity, and debt transactions. Ryan graduated from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
DAVID APPEL
David Appel is Head of the SaaS Vertical for Sage, the worldwide leader in Subscription and Financial Management solutions for fast-growth tech companies.
Over time, his organizations have earned the business of 2,000+ SaaS companies in building their reporting and forecasting for their investors and management teams.

David received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
JAMES ORSILLO
James is the CFO and Operating Partner at Underscore Venture Capital responsible for overseeing operations, managing founder experience and working with portfolio companies.
​
Prior to Underscore, James was CFO of Maxwell Health and CFO at Evariant.
​
James received his Master of Science degree in Finance from Brandeis University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College.
